“The person who stalked me killed my boyfriend because he couldn’t have me.”
A New Zealand woman who met a “harmless” man online and became friends with him told about what he did when she turned him down.
Missy Parata watched as her fiance’s eyes slowly lost their life. She wanted nothing more than to die with him.
In October 2021, her partner Hemi Tahuri was lying on her blood-soaked lap as he was dying. A single.22 bullet was stuck in his brain.
As the 24-year-old tried desperately to keep him awake, tears rolled down her cheeks. Hemi’s eyes rolled back and his face lost all its color.
During the supposedly 40-minute wait for an ambulance, New Zealand woman Missy couldn’t stop thinking about the terrible things that had happened in front of her eyes just minutes before.
Krishan Ranui Dick-Karetai, the man who had been following her for a year, just showed up at their house and shot Hemi between the eyes.
He is said to have convinced himself that he was dating Missy and told everyone he knew that she was his girlfriend, even though she turned down his romantic advances.
Krishan wanted to see Missy the morning of the shooting, but she was sick of his obsessive behavior and told him she was at work.
The 24-year-old then allegedly went to her place of work and pretended to have lunch for her. When her coworkers told him she wasn’t there, he was angry.
Then, he sent 43 texts to Missy and tried to call her 76 times.
She sent back one message that said, “I don’t want you, and I don’t want you to ever try to call or message me. You need to stop bothering me.”
Krishan drove to her house with a gun because he was so angry.
Missy told news.com.au, “The day of the shooting, I had this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn’t right.”
“That morning, Krishan asked me to let him know where I was by dropping my location. He did this to keep track of me.“
I usually did it to keep him off my back, but for some reason, I’d had enough at that point. I told him that I was working. I was tired of feeling sad and wanted to take a break. In the last few months, his behavior had been getting worse and worse.“
