More than 410,000 Kia cars have been recalled because air bags might not work in a crash.

There are some small cars from the 2017 and 2018 model years that are part of the recall, as well as some Sedona and Soul minivans and small SUVs from 2017 to 2019. The electric Soul is also there.

There are more than 410,000 Kia cars being recalled in the US because there’s an issue with the air bags that can make them not work.

The Korean car company says that the cover for the air bag control computer can touch a memory chip and damage the electrical circuit. Airbags could not inflate if that were to happen.

Dealers will look at the computer and decide whether to update software or replace it.

Last July, Kia told U.S. safety regulators that the problem started there. The company says it has 13 customer complaints and 947 warranty claims, but there have been no crashes or injuries.
