Julie Bishop’s new job as an ambassador for a mining services company puts her in touch with big Hollywood stars.
The former foreign minister left politics in 2019 and is now a Strategic Adviser for Perth-based Mineral Resources Limited (MinRes).
The 65-year-old actor stars in a funny commercial with Hollywood stars Kate Walsh and Hugh Jackman to announce that the company’s new headquarters will be in Perth.

The former politician says that working at MinResHQ has a lot of benefits, such as the fact that it is one of only 120 buildings in the world to have a coveted platinum WELL rating, which is the highest certification for human wellbeing.
Ms. Bishop shines in her role as a funny handler for the stars. She changes quickly from a robe with the initials “JBish” to a sequined evening dress.
She fights with Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh in a company bathroom over a hair straightener. Both of them are wrapped in bath towels.
“Don’t worry, we have more than one straightener,” she tells the actor as she hands him the tool.
“We have more than one of everything,” she said.

In another scene with Hugh Jackman at a board meeting, the Australian actor asks the former foreign minister for something strange.
“Hey, Jules, my phone is kind of dying. Could you just send me a new lithium battery?” asked Jackman.
“I mean, how much lithium does a guy really need?” Ms. Bishop talks back.
Bishop also does a gravity-defying headstand when she has another chance to show off her yoga skills.
In May, she did a campaign for Vogue Australia to announce that she would be working with the American skincare and makeup company Estee Lauder.
Since she became Chancellor of the Australian National University in 2020, Ms. Bishop has made a lot of exciting moves in her career.

She has been the Chair of Prince Charles’ charity trust’s Board of Directors since 2020.
Ms. Bishop is on the board of Palladium, a company that provides professional services. She is also on the Gender Equality Advisory Council and started her own consulting firm, Julie Bishop and Partners.
The 65-year-old was stunning in a $1390 dress by an Australian designer that she wore to a gala dinner in London with Prince Charles earlier this month.
Ms. Bishop sat next to the Prince of Wales at the event, which was held to honor the work of those who work for the Prince’s Trust, a group of charities run by him.
