Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger sneak a peek at their $8.5 million Montecito mansion
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are on the lookout for a Santa Barbara home, The Post can exclusively reveal.
The 42-year-old “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor and his 31-year-old wife were spotted touring a $8.45 million Mediterranean mansion on June 5, less than a week before the property went into escrow.
According to county property records, the home near the Upper Village neighborhood is more than 5,000 square feet and features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two powder rooms.
“It is located in the Golden Quadrangle, Montecito’s most desirable neighborhood, which has the best weather and stunning ocean views,” Compass listing broker Luke Ebbin told The Post.
Ebbin stated that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement prohibiting him from disclosing the buyer’s identity, but he confirmed that the home had been placed in escrow. The listing was taken down on June 12, according to Zillow listing records.
The foyer leads to the living room and family room, both of which feature wine storage, two stone fireplaces, and wood-beamed ceilings. To the left, photographs depict a dining room, kitchen, and breakfast room.
The second floor is devoted entirely to the primary bedroom suite and an office. According to floor plans, the bedroom features two expansive balconies on each side, a fireplace, two walk-in closets, and a bathroom.
According to the listing, the 1-acre lot features a three-car garage, an outdoor fireplace, an outdoor kitchen, sitting and dining areas, a saltwater pool, landscaped gardens, fruit trees, and modern sculptures.
The seller acquired the property in January. After months of extensive renovations, the polo-playing seller decided she desired a “horse property,” Ebbin said, and listed the house for sale on June 2 at a $2.38 million premium, according to Zillow records.
“These people have upgraded the house significantly, from changing the pool to saltwater and adding French drains to installing new finishes, floors, hardware, and lighting fixtures,” Ebbin said, praising the house’s indoor-outdoor flow.
The $60,000 Carpinteria rental.
Prior to moving into their new digs, sources say the couple is renting a 3,500-square-foot home in Carpinteria, east of Santa Barbara, for $60,000 per month.
According to Realtor.com, the contemporary three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom beach house features cathedral ceilings, a relaxed, bright decor, and expansive views of the ocean and mountains.
According to the listing, the kitchen features rift-sawn French oak cabinets, marble countertops, and high-end appliances.
According to Realtor.com, the half-acre lot faces south onto the beach and features a wood deck, a fire pit, and a guest house with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Additionally, Pratt’s “Parks and Recreation” co-star and friend Rob Lowe resides in the neighborhood.
According to Mansion Global, Pratt was recently residing on a Washington farm in the San Juan Islands, a favorite haunt of Bill Gates and Steve Miller. Pratt and ex-wife Anna Farris previously shared a Los Angeles mansion, which they sold for $5 million in September, Page Six reported.
Schwarzenegger and the “Jurassic World” actor married in June 2019 and honeymooned in Hawaii. Schwarzenegger became Pratt’s personal barber less than a year later due to the pandemic.
They welcomed their first child, Lyla, in August. Additionally, the Christian actor has an eight-year-old son, Jack, with Farris.
Schwarzenegger is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor and former governor of California. She is the author of numerous works of fiction.
Pratt stars in Chris McKay’s upcoming film “The Tomorrow War,” which is scheduled for release on July 2.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment.
