In the northern suburbs of Perth, a dead man with gunshot wounds was found in Gnangara. The murder was linked to a gang of bikers.
Police are telling people to “stay alert” after a man was shot and killed in what they think was a bikie-related crime.
A WA Police spokesman said that the killing of a man in his 30s in Gnangara on Thursday afternoon was being looked into by detectives from the homicide squad.
Around 4 p.m., the body of a man who had been shot was found. Two shots were fired, as far as we can tell.
Joseph Raimondi, a Rebels biker, was seen at the scene with other mourners on Thursday night. He was said to be a close friend of slain Rebels boss Nick Martin.
It is now known that the police haven’t caught anyone yet.
“We want everyone in the area to stay alert, and if they see a suspicious person or car, they should call the police right away,” a police spokesman said.
The homicide squad didn’t get to the scene of the crime until about 7 p.m., so details are still coming in.
Just days before, The West Australian reported that more than 300 “bikers” or people with strong ties to illegal motorcycle gangs had gun licenses.
Martin was killed at Perth Motorplex in December 2020, so the investigation also comes close to two years after that.
Martin was killed by a hired hitman, a former soldier who was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year for a shocking murder in WA.
David Pye, a former friend of Martin’s, is accused of planning the murder. It is also said that he told the same hitman to kill Comanchero Ray Cilli, who is thought to be hiding in Thailand.
Martin and his wife Amanda lived in a $1 million compound in Gnangara, the same suburb where the latest murder investigation is taking place.
