Photos of Toni Collette's husband David Galafassi passionately kissing another woman on Manly beach have come out after the actress said they had decided to split up.
David Galafassi, who is married to Toni Collette, was seen kissing another woman on Manly beach.
As the couple's divorce was announced, pictures of Toni Collette's husband David Galafassi passionately kissing another woman came out.
The couple, who have been together for 19 years, posted a joint statement on Collette's Instagram on Thursday, telling fans, "After a significant period of separation, it is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are getting a divorce. We all agree on our decision and will still respect and care for each other as we go our separate ways.
"Our kids are the most important thing to us, and we will continue to do well as a family, even though it will look different. We're grateful for the space and love you give us as we change and grow during this time of transition. "Thanks a lot!"
Collette and Galafassi confirmed their relationship after Galafassi and Sydney chiropractor Shannon Egan were photographed kissing in the water at Manly. They then took their public display of affection to the beach and hugged in front of other beachgoers.
Collette posted a mysterious note on Instagram hours before announcing her divorce. It said, "No matter what your current situation is, if you can imagine something better for yourself, you can make it."
Over the years, the couple has kept their marriage pretty quiet. Just five days ago, Collette turned on her Instagram account again. She posted a picture of herself drinking from a "Happy Birthday" cup and wrote, "I'm back. Hello, everyone. I love you."
Collette and Galafassi moved their 14-year-old daughter Sage and 11-year-old son Arlo back to Sydney from Los Angeles in 2019. Since the early 2000s, they had lived in the United States.
Collette, a TV and movie star who has won both a Golden Globe and an Emmy, met Galafassi in 2002 at an album release party for Gelbison, the band he was in at the time.
After a year, they got married in a traditional Buddhist way.
Galafassi was in a near-fatal motorbike accident in rural NSW on Christmas Day of 2019. The Muriel's Wedding actress took to social media at the time to thank paramedics for saving her husband's life.
"My husband was in a terrible motorcycle accident not long ago. He is now slowly getting better. We are so lucky to have him still. "If it hadn't been for the amazing people at NSW Ambulance and Toll Ambulance Rescue, it might not have happened," her Instagram post said.
"Thank you so much for being so quick, clear, knowledgeable, kind, and committed. We can't thank you enough for saving him. Yes, this Christmas is very happy. Thank you."
