An associate of Matt Gaetz confirms that both men had sex with a teen girl.
According to a report on Thursday, Joel Greenberg, a former associate of Rep. Matt Gaetz, revealed in a letter that both he and the embattled Republican congressman paid for sex — including with a minor.
The Daily Beast reported that it received three versions of a confession letter Greenberg allegedly wrote last year in an attempt to win a presidential pardon.
Greenberg reportedly admitted in the handwritten letter that he and Gaetz (R-Fla.) were both “involved in sexual acts” with a girl who was 17 at the time.
“From time to time, some of these girls received gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments, including the person who was not yet 18,” he wrote.
“I witnessed the activities firsthand, and Venmo, Cash App, and other payment methods were used to pay these girls on behalf of the Congressman.”
According to the paper, Greenberg said that the girl lied about her age and that he and Gaetz believed she was 19 when they allegedly paid her for sex.

“This person was not contacted again until after her 18th birthday,” he wrote.
According to reports, the Justice Department is investigating whether Gaetz, 38, paid a 17-year-old for sex and enticed her to fly, a violation of federal sex trafficking laws.
The investigation into Gaetz is also expected to look into whether the congressman paid for sex with multiple people he met online.
Greenberg, a former Florida county tax collector, was arrested last summer on federal sex-trafficking charges and other charges stemming from an alleged relationship with the same teenager.
Since last year, he has officially been working with federal authorities, including sharing details about Gaetz’s activities.
Gaetz has denied ever paying for sex and has also said that as an adult, he has never had sex with a 17-year-old. He has remained uncharged.
