On Friday, owner Joon Lee claimed ignorance of the films, but after viewing them, he identified the woman in one of the clips as his 15-year employee and manager Christen Colbert.
Lee told the press that he is taking some time to figure out what to do next and that he has put Colbert on leave. During a phone chat with Lee, Colbert admitted to making the recordings and said that she ate the banana herself later.
The Nash County Health Department will be working with Lee to ensure that "additional action deemed appropriate" is taken, according to a representative for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
As far as Lee is aware, he has been in operation for over twenty years.
The eatery was recently inspected and given a "A" for cleanliness.
